Travel within Myanmar

All visitors to Myanmar need a visa. THERE ARE NO VISAS ON ARRIVAL!

Travel in Myanmar is rewarding but perhaps a little more difficult than in some other Asian countries due to the lack of any real tourist infrastructure. Any Hashers that would like to have an extended stay here in Burma, either before and/or after the Hash may like to consult one of the local tour companies listed below that specialize in a more personal service and offer bespoke as well as some standard tours. Discounts are available to Hashers. So why not take this opportunity to explore one of the last hidden gems in Asia, visit the thousands of temples on the plain of Bagan - a designated World Heritage Site (we even know the owner of a ballooning company that can afford you an exclusive bird’s eye view), or visit the historic ancient cities around historic Mandalay, or row on the unique and pristine Inle lake where the local people have their floating gardens or just relax on the sort of undeveloped pristine white sandy beaches that were once common in Asia.

Note that due to an internal banking crisis (see section on General Information), tour operators in Myanmar have been very hesitant about providing prices for package tours to be taken months in advance. The Kyat (Burmese currency) has depreciated significantly against the dollar in recent months and is currently extremely volatile. As a consequence, service providers to the tour industry, such as transport companies, may change their prices at short notice.

Destination Asia Myanmar

Attached are three programs designed for visiting Hashers with up to a week to spare. The three attached itineraries are:

3 days / 2 nights    Yangon & Bagan
5 days / 4 nights    Yangon / Bagan / Inle Lake
8 days / 7 nights    Yangon / Bagan / Mandalay / Inle Lake

Package 1 - Package 2 - Package 3

All of the programs are fully inclusive, i.e. all meals, entrance fees, domestic flights, guides and vehicles are included - basically Hashers will not need to pay for anything except drinks with meals and any personal expenditure.

The prices are based on 2 types of hotel category - Deluxe and First class - basically top hotels and middle range hotels.

Visiting hashers have been extended a 7% reduction on the prices contained in the attachments. If the visitors can combine themselves into a group of 10 / 20 people the tour is far better value for money.
